Anchor QEA Goes Fishin’ in New York
Even though Matt Henderson and Joe Detor are valued members of Anchor QEA’s engineering team in our Syracuse office, they still know a thing or two about fish.

On September 27, Matt and Joe got up early to participate in the 2008 Salt City Bassmasters’ Inaugural Corporate Classic fishing tournament with Onondaga Lake project team members and clients. The tournament began in the dark, which turned to rain, which turned to even heavier rain, but the Anchor QEA team did not go home empty-handed. Although they shared more stories about the fish that got away than the fish they actually caught, the intrepid Anchor QEA team did bring home the coveted Lunker Award for the biggest fish, catching a 4 pound, 3 ounce bass with their boat captain’s pink fishing lure (in honor of his newborn daughter who may have been only slightly bigger than the fish). Their reward for this cold, wet, and very early morning on Onondaga Lake was a bevy of prizes, a much deserved afternoon of food and drink with the rest of the tournament participants, and some serious bragging rights!
