Alaskan Way Viaduct and Seawall Replacement Program

Anchor QEA is currently assisting with cultural resources compliance on the Washington State Department of Transportation’s (WSDOT’s) Alaskan Way Viaduct and Seawall Replacement Program. Anchor QEA has:
- Led the WSDOT environmental and cultural resources team through compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and Washington Governor’s Executive Order 05-05
- Prepared detailed work plans for each project, working to ensure the environmental, design, and construction teams are collaborating effectively
- Assisted in drafting a Section 106 Memorandum of Agreement
The cultural resources effort is ongoing, and Anchor QEA will provide support as projects move into construction and as mitigation measures described in the Memorandum of Agreement are implemented.
