Hydrodynamic Modeling

Our experience in hydrodynamic modeling ranges from analysis of small sites to watershed-scale delineations and water quantity allocations. We evaluate runoff sources and quantities, assess the feasibility of design options, evaluate the effectiveness of water quality best management practices, and simulate the fate and transport of contaminants to receiving waters. We link these applications to GIS database systems for efficient data review, storage, and spatial display.

Our tools include statistical methods to analyze streamflow data and watershed hydrologic models, such as HSPF and HEC-HMS; models of reservoir operations such as HEC-ResSim and RiverWare; 1-D flow models such as HEC-RAS; 2-D models such as RIVER-2D, SMS/RMA-2, and HEC-RAS 5.0; specialized models for sediment transport calculations; and fisheries habitat simulation models such as PHABSIM. Anchor QEA staff also have extensive experience applying complex 2-D and 3-D hydrodynamic, wave, water quality, and sediment transport models, including EFDC, Delft3D, UnTRIM, RMA2, ADCIRC, ROMS, SWAN, and CH3D.
