Pittsburg Marina Maintenance and Capital Improvements

Pittsburg, California

Why It Matters

The Pittsburg Marina is a 575-slip municipal marina at the confluence of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers, providing boaters direct access to San Francisco Bay. The marina, Harbor Park, and boat launch are well-used community amenities that connect residents and visitors to the delta. Sedimentation and aging waterfront facilities are ongoing challenges at this facility.

Project Impact

Anchor QEA managed maintenance dredging and marina improvements for the City of Pittsburg, including multiple dredging episodes in Basin 2 (Lowy Basin), Basin 3, the Residential Channel, and the Launch Ramp. The team also performed sediment testing, permitting, bidding support, construction inspections, and biological monitoring, along with infrastructure assessments and repair support.

Additional work included marina-wide structural and electrical inspections, breakwater evaluations, hydrographic surveys, solar studies, and feasibility studies. The team also provided design, permitting, and construction support for fishing pier repairs. Together, these efforts make the waterfront safer, more accessible, and more welcoming while preserving reliable boating access and strengthening the community’s connection to the delta.

Innovations

Anchor QEA’s integrated approach combines dredging, engineering, permitting, environmental compliance, and construction support to help the city prioritize improvements and sustain this heavily used regional resource.
