Planning and Permitting

Anchor QEA provides comprehensive environmental planning and permitting services for a variety of marine, freshwater, and upland projects, in addition to helping our clients navigate the increasingly complex agency consultation processes. We have extensive expertise in preparing regulatory permitting documentation to support federal, state, and local regulations, ranging from compliance with local critical areas ordinances and shoreline management programs to preparation of large-scale environmental documents, such as environmental impact statements and reports. We also provide Endangered Species Act consultation methods, protocols, and procedures expertise. We maintain excellent relationships with federal, state, and local agency staff, which helps streamline communication during permitting efforts and maintain project priority during permit review. In addition, our staff include several former agency regulators, including former USACE and National Marine Fisheries Service regulatory staff, which provides us further insight into the internal operating practices, policies, and regulatory guidance of these agencies.

Effective environmental compliance requires an understanding of design and construction processes, as well as technical knowledge, to ensure environmental obligations and permit conditions are met. Anchor QEA routinely provides industrial clients and port facilities with environmental compliance and monitoring services for water quality, air quality, sediment and soil, underwater noise, and habitat conditions during construction. We provide the right blend of expertise to protect resources, maintain the trust of resource agencies and the public, and manage construction issues.
