Anchor QEA adds Senior Managing Coastal Engineer

Anchor QEA is pleased to announce that Cris Weber has joined our coastal and waterfront engineering practice and will serve as a Senior Managing Coastal Engineer in our Austin, TX office.

Cris brings more than 20 years of experience in coastal engineering design and modeling, project delivery and management, and business development. Cris will focus on growing Anchor QEAs Texas coastal engineering program and will assist with integration of Texas into the Anchor QEA’s Gulf of Mexico and national coastal restoration and resiliency efforts.

Prior to joining Anchor QEA, Cris was a Senior Coastal Engineer and Project Manager for Freese and Nichols, Inc., in the Coastal Resources and Water Resources Design practices, where he and his team were recipients of multiple awards for Project Innovation and the Marvin C. Nichols award for outstanding projects. In his leadership role, he was the Business Unit Leader for Coastal Engineering focusing on coastal engineering design, client service quality, and building multi-disciplinary project delivery teams.

Cris is a member of the national board of directors for the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA) and a co-chair for the national American Society of Civil Engineers-Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute (ASCE-COPRI) Coastal Zone Management Committee. He is a founding member and Vice President of the Houston/Texas COPRI Chapter and communications committee chairman for the ASBPA Texas Chapter. As well, Cris helps organize the annual Fall Conference for the COPRI Texas Chapter and the annual Coastal Symposium for ASBPA Texas Chapter.

Cris earned his bachelor’s degree in Ocean Engineering from Texas A&M University and his master’s degree in Coastal Engineering from the University of Florida.
