Firm to Continue Providing Innovative and Environmentally Sustainable Solutions in Southern California

Anchor QEA, LLC, is announcing the acquisition of staff from Everest International Consultants, Inc. (Everest)—a Southern California consulting firm specializing in coastal engineering and restoration. The two firms share a long-standing relationship, founded around the goal of providing exemplary engineering and science services to regional clients, and this successful collaboration will continue through this renewed partnership. David Cannon, former president of Everest, said of the acquisition, “After years of teaming with Anchor QEA, I am excited to be able to work with their staff to plan and design coastal habitat restoration and shore protection projects together.”

The former Everest team, including Cannon, Ying Poon, Margaret Lee, and Berry Ueoka, bring additional coastal engineering, hydrodynamic modeling, and shoreline restoration services and offer unique modeling capabilities for shorelines, harbors, and watersheds, based on their experience with most of the major wetlands from Central California to the Mexican border. Cannon continued, “The addition of Everest staff to Anchor QEA will enhance the combined team’s capabilities to respond to coastal restoration, shore protection, water quality assessment/improvement, and sea level rise vulnerability assessment and adaptation.”

Steve Cappellino, Anchor QEA’s southwest regional manager, said, “Everest created many of the SoCal watershed and harbor-specific hydrodynamic models, and our staff at Anchor QEA can use these models to more efficiently implement large-scale remediation and restoration projects.” The collaboration will allow Anchor QEA to provide an even higher level of service to clients in the southwest and nationally.

Anchor QEA is a multidisciplinary firm offering shoreline restoration, coastal engineering, dredge material management, sediment remediation, environmental permitting and planning, and stormwater management services during all phases of project development and implementation—from initial planning through construction support—to clients throughout California and the United States.
