Anchor QEA’s current cleanup on the Willamette River in Downtown Portland was featured on news station KGW

Anchor QEA’s current cleanup on the Willamette River in Downtown Portland—a project decades in the making—was recently featured on local news station KGW. The project is focused on removing contaminated sediments that have been buried in the river for more than a century, which originated from a former gas manufacturing plant built in the mid1800’s.

Anchor QEA designed the sediment remedy and is working with Sevenson Environmental Services Inc. in a design-build relationship to implement the cleanup action under the oversight of the OREGON DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY. This project will help to improve the environmental quality of the river in a highly visible downtown location adjacent to Waterfront Park— the site of the Portland Rose Festival Foundation and numerous other community events.
