Living Shoreline Restoration

Anchor QEA assisted with the design process of replacing degraded seawalls with habitat-rich waterside infrastructure on an island.

We collaborated to develop and evaluate a range of alternatives that accommodated rising water level while enhancing estuarine shallow water habitat and recreational uses. Based on a field investigation and geomorphological analysis of the site and its ecological context, the team prepared a series of alternative concepts to reconstruct a portion of the shoreline bordered by a collapsing stacked stone seawall.
